DAY 01: Arrive Kuching / Ranee Boutique Hotel

Upon arrival in Kuching, proceed to your Ranee Boutique Hotel to check in. Free & easy for the whole day. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 02: Semenggoh Orang Utan / Batang Ai Longhouse (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we will pick you up at 8:30am. Then, we depart for Batang Ai passing through scenic countryside consisting of quaint little towns, villages, padi fields, pepper and oil palm plantations interspersed with secondary and virgin jungle as the road starts to wind and undulate as you go deeper into the interior with a short stopover at Serian Town.  The 2nd Stopover will be for lunch at Lachau, a small town on the way to the longhouse.  Arrive at Batang Ai Hydro Lake.  The journey will take you across the lake into the Engkari River, one of the many tributaries flowing into the lake.  The journey will take approximately 1 hour before reaching Ukom Longhouse nestled on a hill beside the river. Check in to your dormitory styled accommodation and explore the longhouse at your own pace while discovering its people and its surroundings. After dinner join the longhouse residents for a glass or two of tuak (rice wine) and a short cultural performance.  The Iban are a fun-loving people, and visitors are expected to join in whatever activities are going on at the Longhouse! DAY 03: Return to Kuching / Ranee Boutique Hotel (B, L)

After breakfast, you are free to observe their daily routine and enjoy a blowpipe demonstration. Then, get ready to depart for Kuching via the same route. May reach Kuching in the afternoon. Lunch is served en-route. Overnight at Ranee Boutique Hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch)

DAY 04: Bako National Park / Santubong Wetland Cruise / Ranee Boutique Hotel (B, L, PR)

After breakfast, we will pick you up at the hotel at 8.30am, depart from your hotel to indulge in a full day trip to Bako National Park.

After the drive, you will take a 25 minute boat ride from Bako Fishing Village Jetty and you can enjoy the trip. Later, when you trek you will be able to sight proboscis monkeys, bearded pigs, monitor lizards, silver leaf monkeys and over 100 species of birds. Sarawak’s rainforest ranges from cliff to beach vegetation's to mangrove swamp forests and Kerangas (Health forest). Pitcher plants and wild orchids are among some of the exotic flowers you will be able to catch a glimpse of. You can also take some good photos of the flora and fauna.

At the end of the boat ride, you will be able to enjoy a swim and sunbath at a secluded swimming beach. Lunch will then be served at a local restaurant around the area and after that, you will be given a choice whether to walk alone or with a guide to explore the scenic beauty of the Bako National Park Headquarters. 

Return by boat to Bako Village Jetty. Then, we will go to Santubong for your Wetland Cruise. This tour takes you in a boat down the Santubong river, past the majestic Mount Santubong and its historical sites, into the bay, where pods of dolphins are found. Sightings can never be guaranteed, but the probability to see dolphins is quite high, because they are around throughout the year. The boat then heads to the western side of the bay into the Kuching Wetlands National Park, Sarawak’s only Ramsar Site. Ramsar sites are wetlands of exceptional global value that are designated for protection. Here you can watch Proboscis Monkeys and Silvered Leaf Monkeys come to the water’s edge, and if you’re lucky, giant crocodiles too. Highlights are the dolphins and a very different perspective of Mount Santubong, as early sailors would have seen it from the sea.

As the light fades you will be able to see fireflies. Packed refreshment will be provided. You will return to the boat club around 8 pm, and then proceed to head back to hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch, Packed Refreshment)

DAY 05: Depart to Mulu / Deer & Lang’s Caves / Mulu Marriott Resort & Spa (B, D) 

After breakfast, free & easy until check out. Transfer to the airport for your flight departure to Mulu. Upon arrival in Mulu, meet the guide and proceed by van to Park HQ. Take the plank walk to visit Deer Cave, one of the biggest cave passages in the world. Close to Deer Cave is Lang's Cave, small but beautifully decorated. In the evening we will wait at the entrance to Deer Cave, where thousands of bats emerge most evenings to hunt for insects over the forest. We then return late in the afternoon to Park HQ and transfer to your accommodation. (Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 06: Wind & Clearwater Caves / Night Walk / Mulu Marriott Resort & Spa (B, L, D)

After breakfast, at 0830hrs, we depart by longboat to the source of the Clearwater River. We first stop at Batu Bungan Penan Settlement for a short excursion of the settlement. You are able to see the handmade handicraft like baskets, bangles, mats by the Penan tribe. From there we go by boat to visit CAVE OF THE WINDS with unusual calcite formations, including the tall, slender stalagmites in King's Room. Just a few hundred meters upriver lies CLEARWATER CAVE where you have to climb 200 steps to the cave's main entrance; visit the Lady's Cave and the underground river. The pool at Clearwater Spring is a nice place to swim. In the afternoon, return to your accommodation. Free & easy for until evening. 

In the evening, transfer to Mulu Park HQ for Night Walk registration before we start with tour. Immerse yourself in the night sounds of the rainforest; watch the blinking fireflies float before you or search for luminescent fungi. Quietly move through the forest looking for animals that hide during the day but emerge in the darkness which protects them from being seen by predators. Be amazed by the thousands of insects of amazing shapes and colour, from miniature to enormous, that are attracted to the lights.

Return to your accommodation. Dinner at accommodation's cafe. Overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 07: Canopy Walk / Fastlane / Mulu Marriott Resort & Spa (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your accommodation and we will send you to Mulu Park HQ to register for the Canopy Walk.

The Mulu Skywalk, the world’s longest tree based canopy walk opens your personal pathway to discovery. This 480 metre walkway, suspended 20 metres above the forest floor winds among the lush tree tops with tranquil river views below and the soaring heights of the nearby limestone cliffs above.

Have lunch before we go for Fastlane tour, departing at 2:00pm. We start the tour with a short boat ride, a 500 metre walk through the rainforest and a climb up the steps to the cave entrance. Cave fauna is easily seen at the beginning of this trip; such as spiders, blue racer snakes and white crabs. As the cave becomes larger some of the best formations in Mulu are presented to you via stunning lighting. The wide plank walk path allows you to look around you and thoroughly enjoy this amazing experience.

Return to accommodation after tour. Dinner at accommodation's cafe. Overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 08: Depart to Kota Kinabalu / Shangri-la Tanjung Aru Resort (B)

After breakfast, free & easy until check out. Transfer to the Mulu Airport for your flight departure to Kota Kinabalu. Transfer to your hotel & check in. Free & easy for the rest of the day.

DAY 09: Kinabalu Park / Poring Hot Spring / Kinabalu Pine Resort (B, L, D)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Then meet our guide / driver at 0800hrs at hotel lobby and depart to Kundasang. The journey will take about 2 hours. En-route stop visit the Pekan Nabalu for photo stop or buy local produces / Handicraft.

Proceed to Kinabalu Park, a botanist’s paradise that was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO which covers an area of 754sq.km with an altitude range up to the summit of Mt Kinabalu standing at 4095.2m above sea level. The park is home to the various species of flora and fauna.  Lunch at Kundasang Area.

Then, transfer to Poring Hot Spring.  Upon arrival, experience the Poring forest canopy walk and see the spectacular view of tropical rainforest from 100-200ft above the forest floor lead by our guide.  The trail is quite steep and the walk takes 30-40 minutes altogether.

Proceed to Kinabalu Pine Resort to check in & overnight. You will have dinner at the resort. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) 

DAY 10: Kundasang War Memorial / Desa Cow Farm / Shangri-la Tanjung Aru Resort (B, L)

After breakfast, we will visit Kundasang War Memorial before we move on to see Desa Cow Farm. This is a place where you feel like you are being in New Zealand with the mountainous scenery there. We can take some photos and visit the milk processing plant there.

Return to Kota Kinabalu with lunch along the way. Check in to Shangri-la Tanjung Aru Resort & overnight.

DAY 11: Depart to Sandakan / Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Lodge (B, D)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight departure to Sandakan. Upon arrival, we will depart to Kinabatangan River (2 ½ hours drive). Upon arrival at Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort, meet & greet by our representative. There will be a briefing featuring the overview of the resort routes & safety. Check in to your room. Dinner & overnight at the resort. (Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 12: Morning Cruise / B / Jungle Walk / L / Afternoon Cruise / D / Night Walk / Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Lodge (B, L, D)

Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills. Proceed for an early morning cruise to observe more wildlife and birdlife. After breakfast, we will go for jungle walk within the surrounding areas of the resort. Return for lunch at the resort.

At 1600 hours, depart for afternoon river cruise in search of wildlife that is so prevalent in the area – a good chance to see proboscis monkey, orang utan, macaques, pygmy elephants, birds and other wildlife. Return to the resort. Dinner will be served. After dinner and subject to weather conditions, follow our in-house naturalist for a night walk in search of nocturnal mammals. Return and overnight at the Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 13: Travel overland to Sepilok / Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort (B, L)

After breakfast, check out and transfer to the world-renowned Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre to witness the feeding of the iconic Orang Utan and a good opportunity to photograph them in their natural habitat. The centre was established in 1964 to help rehabilitate the Orang Utans which had been orphaned, or displaced by logging and clearing of secondary forests for plantation. The magnificent mixed dipterocarp forest offers a natural home to the Orang Utans, which slowly become less dependent on their twice-daily feeding of milk and bananas at the centre and eventually return voluntarily to the wild.
After that, we will visit The Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to see the sun bear. Then, we will visit Rainforest Discovery Centre before lunch. After lunch, transfer to Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort to check in & overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch)

DAY 14: Depart Sandakan (B)

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Sandakan Airport for your onward flight. (Breakfast)
