DAY 01: ARRIVAL KOTA KINABALU – CITY TOUR – SUNSET CRUISE DINNER (Dinner)
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Today, proceed for a city tour of the Nature Resort City of Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah, also known as “The Land Below the Wind.” Formerly called Jesselton and now fondly known as KK, Kota Kinabalu has rapidly developed into a modern city with excellent infrastructure and amenities.
Highlights of the city tour include Signal Hill, Masjid Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu, State Government Building, and the Double Six Monument. Continue with a heritage walk featuring photo stops at Atkinson Clock Tower, Jalan Gaya, the ‘0’ Kilometre Marker, Sabah Tourism 100 Years Building, Australia Place, and the KK War Memorial. Enjoy shopping at the Philippines Market, Jamilah Jewelleries, and the Cocoa Boutique, where you can find a wide variety of chocolate flavours.
In the late evening, transfer to Sutera Marina Jetty for an unforgettable experience aboard North Borneo Cruises. During this sunset dinner cruise, immerse yourself in the beauty of the South China Sea as you sail past picturesque islands and water villages along Sabah’s west coast. Wander freely around the vessel—the upper deck offers breathtaking ocean views, warm sunset hues, and a gentle sea breeze, while the air-conditioned, ethnic-themed restaurant below features live acoustic music.
Enjoy a buffet-style dinner showcasing Sabah’s most popular local delicacies. As the sun sets and city lights begin to sparkle along Kota Kinabalu’s coastline, indulge in dessert or wine while cruising along the waterfront. After the cruise, return to your hotel for overnight in Kota Kinabalu.
DAY 02: TAMPARULI – KINABALU PARK – BOTANICAL GARDEN – CULVERT VIEW – DESA CATTLE FARM – HOTEL (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Meet at your hotel lobby and proceed on a one-hour drive to Tamparuli, subject to traffic conditions. Visit the iconic Tamparuli Suspension Bridge, built high above the Kiulu River for pedestrians to cross to the opposite bank.
Continue the journey to Kundasang, with a stop at Pekan Nabalu for shopping and photo opportunities of the majestic Mount Kinabalu. Thereafter, proceed to Kinabalu Park for a brief stop near the park headquarters or designated viewpoints for photos.
Enjoy a short trek along the Silau-Silau Trail, one of the most popular trails in Kinabalu Park. Spanning over 3 kilometres and taking approximately one hour, this easy-level trail features flat terrain with multiple entry and exit points. Walk alongside streams while admiring lush greenery, mosses, and orchids, leading to the Botanical Garden.
Transfer to a local café for lunch. After lunch, proceed to the Culvert View (Mirror View) for photo stops before continuing to Desa Cattle Farm, fondly known as the “Little New Zealand of Sabah.” Enjoy activities such as feeding calves with bottled milk, feeding goats, observing the milk-processing process, and participating in educational tours.
Drop off at your selected accommodation for check-in, dinner, and overnight.
DAY 03: WAR MEMORIAL – PORING HOT SPRING – TAGAL FISH MASSAGE – SABAH TEA – KOTA KINABALU (Breakfast / Lunch)
After breakfast, check out and proceed to the Kundasang War Memorial. Established in 1962, the memorial commemorates Australian and British Prisoners of War who perished during the Sandakan Death Marches in World War II, as well as the people of North Borneo who risked their lives to help them.
The memorial features four beautifully landscaped gardens—the Australian Garden, English Garden, Borneo Garden, and Contemplation Garden and Pool—symbolizing different nationalities. With pine trees, blooming roses, and a tranquil atmosphere, it is an ideal place for reflection. Visitors may also watch a short historical video on the Sandakan Death March.
Continue to Poring Hot Spring, where natural hot sulphur springs bubble from the earth. Enjoy a relaxing soak in open-air Japanese-style bathtubs before heading to the Tagal Fish Massage at Kampung Luanti. In the local KadazanDusun dialect, “tagal” means “no fishing,” a conservation practice to protect the river ecosystem. The Ikan Pelian (Malaysian Mahseer) gently nibble at the skin, offering a natural exfoliation experience believed to have therapeutic benefits.
Stop at Sabah Tea Restaurant for lunch before returning to Kota Kinabalu. Check in at your hotel for leisure and overnight.
DAY 04: TWIN ISLAND HOPPING – KOTA KINABALU (Breakfast / Lunch)
Breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to the jetty for a short 15-minute boat ride to explore Sapi Island and Manukan Island.
Spend the day at leisure, relaxing on tropical white sandy beaches or swimming and snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters of the South China Sea. Optional water sports such as jet skiing, parasailing, windsurfing, and water skiing are available at your own expense.
Lunch will be provided during the tour. In the late afternoon, return to the mainland and transfer back to your hotel. Overnight at the same hotel.
DAY 05: MARI MARI CULTURAL VILLAGE – DEPARTURE (Breakfast / Lunch)
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Meet your driver and guide at the lobby for the Mari Mari Cultural Village Tour.
At Mari Mari Cultural Village, visitors do more than observe—they actively participate in the traditions of Borneo’s indigenous tribes. Engage in hands-on activities such as traditional bamboo cooking, tasting authentic local desserts, learning how to use a blowpipe, and discovering ancient fire-making techniques. Enjoy henna tattoo art and gain insight into daily village life.
