Bandar Seri Begawan is the centre of Brunei’s commerce, finance and government. In many ways, it is also the heart of Brunei’s cultural landscape, housing some of the nation’s most revered landmarks. The city’s breathtaking Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is a stunning tribute to the nation’s deep-rooted faith, while the truly Bruneian Kampong Ayer water village offers a glimpse of the nation’s quaint Asian charm.
Beneath Bandar Seri Begawan’s lavish adornments, gold towers, sparkling fountains and colourful mosaic tiles, lies a city steeped in quiet respect, grounded in Islamic tradition, and exuding a sense of peace that makes it one of Asia’s most distinctive capital cities.
Meet at hotel lobby & transfer to Sarawak / Brunei Border Sg 7. Then, heading to Kuala Belait where Brunei's oil & gas industry is centered. Along the way, you will find plenty of nodding donkeys pumping crude oil from hundred of meters below. Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital city of Brunei Darussalam is about 100 km from Seria and the drive from Seria will take us past the Jerudong Park – the Sultan's polo ground and the grand Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque. The skyline of Bandar Seri Begawan is dominated by Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque, one of the most magnificent mosque in South East Asia and a replica of a 16th-century royal barge is moored in an adjoining lagoon. Continue visit to Brunei National Museum & the Royal Regalia. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, take a water taxi ride to the Kampung Ayer, the "Venice of the East". It is the world's largest water village with 30,000 people living in houses on stilts snaking along the banks of the Brunei River in the heart of Bandar Seri Bagawan. On the return journey, we will drive past the Istana Nurul Iman, which is the Sultan's Royal Palace. We shall return to Miri in the late afternoon with fond memories of Brunei Darussalam. Transfer back to Miri.
