Day 1: Arrive Kota Kinabalu from Penang / Overnight at hotel in KK

Upon arrival in Kota Kinabalu, proceed to the hotel on your own. Check in at Gaya Centre Hotel.

* As you will be checking out early the next day, please arrange with the front desk your breakfast arrangement for the next day when you check in to the hotel.

Day 2: Depart at 6am to Kinabalu Park / Registration / Climb up to Laban Rata / Stay at Panalaban Assorted Huts (B, L, D)

6:00am: We will pick you up at the hotel lobby of your accommodation in Kota Kinabalu. We then drive to Kinabalu Park Headquarters where you will collect your packed lunch.
 
9:00am: Our licensed guide will arrange all your necessary registrations, assign you a mountain guide and give you an ID Tag to be worn at all times.
 
You will then proceed to Timpohon Gate, the starting point of your journey to conquer Mount Kinabalu. This first part of the climb will take you around 4-5 hours depending on your level of fitness and speed.
 
There are 6 shelters along the way for you to refill your water bottle and take a rest. Enjoy the panoramic view of the rainforest. You will pass beautiful vegetation that changes as you go higher, from Oak and Chestnut to mossy and later alpine vegetations.
 
3:30pm: We will arrive at Panalaban Base Camp and check into your accommodation in late afternoon.
 
7:00pm: We will be served buffet dinner at Laban Rata restaurant and we stay overnight at the accommodation. (Packed lunch, Buffet Dinner)

Day 3: Supper / Ascend to Mt Kinabalu Summit for sunrise / Return to Laban Rata & check out / Descend to Park HQ / Lunch / Return to KK / Overnight at hotel in Kota Kinabalu (S, B, L)

2:00am:  Wake up at 2 am, then have Light Supper at Laban Rata. Prepare for the most challenging part of the climb to the Low’s peak summit (4,095++ m). Depending on speed of trekking, you might be able to experience the glorious sunrise over the majestic Mt. Kinabalu if weather permits.
 
7:00 am: We will now descend to Laban Rata for breakfast.
 
10:00 am: Check out and proceed to Timpohon Gate for transfer back to Kinabalu Park Headquarters. We will arrive between 1pm-3pm. Your guide will register with the park authorities that you have completed the climb. You may purchase a certificate of achievement for completion of the climb.
 
Lunch will be served at the Balsam restaurant in Kinabalu Park. We will then transfer you back to your accommodation in Kota Kinabalu city. (Early Supper, Breakfast and Lunch)

Day 4: Depart to Mulu / Deer Cave / Lang's Cave / Bat Exodus / Stay at hotel in Mulu (B, L, D)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel & depart at 7:00am to Kota Kinabalu International Airport on your own. Upon arrival in Mulu, meet the guide and transfer to your accommodation for check in. Lunch at Sg Pala Restaurant. We proceed by van to Park HQ. Take the plank walk to visit DEER CAVE, one of the biggest cave passages in the world. Close to Deer Cave is LANG'S CAVE, small but beautifully decorated. In the evening we will wait at the entrance to Deer Cave, where thousands of bats emerge most evenings to hunt for insects over the forest. We then return late in the afternoon to Park HQ and transfer your accommodation for dinner and overnight. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 5: Wind Cave / Clearwater Cave / Trek to Camp 5 (B, L, D) 

After breakfast we depart by longboat at 0830hrs to the source of the Clearwater River. We first stop at Batu Bungan Penan Settlement for a short excursion of the settlement. You are able to see the hand made handicraft like baskets, bangles, mats by the Penan tribe. From there we go by boat to visit WIND CAVE with unusual calcite formations, including the tall, slender stalagmites in King's Room. Just a few hundred meters upriver lies CLEARWATER CAVE where you have to climb 200 steps to the cave's main entrance; visit the Lady's Cave and the underground river. The pool at Clearwater Spring is a nice place to swim and picnic. After lunch we go by boat beyond Clearwater Cave. From Long Lutu, an easy 3 hrs walk through virgin forest bring us to a Park hut on the bank of the MELINAU RIVER where it leaves the MELINAU GORGE. We overnight at Camp 5 (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 6: Climb Mulu Pinnacles / Return to Camp 5 (B, L, D)

The limestone mountains of Mulu are bedecked with sharp needles: the biggest and best examples, "THE PINNACLES", are on the north end of GUNUNG API mountain. Early breakfast and this morning we climb over 1000m up the steep path to a viewpoint overlooking the Pinnacles (the steepest sections have aluminum ladders for safety). If the weather is good, the four hour climb will be rewarded with wide views over the forest to Brunei and the South China Sea. Return to Camp 5 for another overnight stay. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 7: Depart to Kuching / Depart to Penang (B)

This morning we return on foot to Long Lutut and by boat down the Melinau River to Mulu Airport for your flight departure to Kuching, then your flight from Kuching to Penang. (Breakfast)
