MANUKAN ISLAND ( Pulau Manukan):

Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park is comprised of five islands, ie Sapi, Gaya, Manukan, Sulug, and Mamutik Island.

The second largest island in Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, Malaysia's first marine national park is Manukan Island. To visit the island, tourists can depart from Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal by speedboat to reach Manukan Island. You can also depart from Sutera Harbour Jetty if you have made special arrangement on it. The first speedboat trip departs at 8:30 AM and the last one is at 4:15 PM. It is only a 15-20 minutes from boat to reach the island.

Manukan Island is the most developed and popular of the five islands; its 1-mile (1.5-kilometer) beach is lapped by the calm waters of South China Sea, which are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Plus, there’s the highest concentration of restaurants and watersports opportunities on the island.

If you want to stay overnight there, then there is Manukan Island Resort and you can actually have your own small private beach area and in the evening,you can go hiking to see the sun set at the view point. This is only possible if you stay overnight at Manukan Island.

 

 

 

 

 

SAPI ISLAND ( Pulau Sapi):

 

Once you have had enough of Manukan Island, the next island to hop to is Sapi Island. There are many boats plying between Manukan and Sapi Island which you can hop on to as you have already paid for the island transfer.

Sapi Island is the second smallest island in the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park. Sapi means 'cow' in Malay and the island is said to be shaped like a cow's head. This jungle route is mostly flat terrain, so it is great for all ages.

This route starts at the beach, winds through the dense forest, and takes you to Point E and small beaches. This jungle route is mostly flat terrain, so it is great for all ages. There are many activities you can do at the beach including swimming and snorkeling and water sports activities. There are many huge monitor lizards in this island though some say is Komodo.

 

ANIMALS:

Pulau Sapi has many lizards that roam and become a tourist attraction especially from abroad because they thought it was a komodo dragons. . These 2-meter-long wild creatures on the island are harmless unless you disturb them.

Macaques. These monkeys are cute to look at but are a bit of a pest, especially if they steal your bag or camera. Better not to feed them.

Do not feed the fish as it will make the sea dirty and affect their eating habits.
 

One of Sapi Island’s top secret cliff  is located 800 meters from the ground. The picture-perfect and pristine view from the cliff out to the sea is breath-taking and beautiful.

 

As you follow the trail towards the cliff, you will reach an open area with sedimentary rocks and a magnificent view of the mesmerizing blue and green colored water. The waves roll as the ocean does, bringing the music of the beach, to your ears giving you a calm feeling. Relax and Enjoy the air, the view and everything like you are on a castaway dream location.

DIVING AND SNORKELING: 

There is a coral garden at the southeast tip of the island. Stingrays, cuttlefish and moray eels are among the marine life found here. Good place for beginners.

For snorkeling, you can find many people doing snorkeling around the island popular spots.

 

ZIPLINE

Sapi Island is home to the Coral Flyer Zipline, one of the longest island-to-island ziplines in the world. Fi you want a bit of some adrenaline fun, try out the coral flyer zipline activity that will give you a tour of other surrounding islands.

The  Coral Flyer which claims to be the longest island-to-island zipline in the world. This flying fox (aerial rope way) links Sapi to Gaya Island, a distance of 250m at speeds of up to 60 kph.

Trained and qualified personnel and strong harnesses and cables ensure a smooth safe trip.

Ticket Cost is RM 64 and includes a boat transfer to Gaya and return journey by zipline. The ride is open from 10am to 3pm. You can buy tickets on arrival at the Sapi jetty.

 

 

There is a sand bank to the north of the island, which, at low tide, makes it possible to cross over to the south western tip of Gaya island.

 

What are the things I must carry before visiting the Sapi Islands?

Remember to carry the following items while visiting Sapi Island.

- Beach Mat

- Swimwear and snorkeling gears (Available to rent at island as well)

- Sunglasses and hat

- Comfortable hiking shoes if you plan to hike through the forest

- Water bottles and energy drinks

- Insect repellent

- Light snacks

- Sunscreen

 

Meet at the hotel lobby, Proceed to Sutera Jetty to transfer to Manukan or Sapi Island, Experience the nature beauty of Manukan or Sapi Island.

Take a swim at the beach and enjoy the scenery with water sports and swimming activities.  BBQ Lunch will be serve . After lunch, return to KK at 3:00pm to transfer back to hotel.
