DAY 01: KAMPUNG LIFE / SUNSET CYCLING / CULINARY DELIGHTS

Arrive at Kuching International Airport and receive a warm, traditional Bornean welcome from your local guide. Transfer to your hotel to settle in and relax before your afternoon adventure.

Late afternoon, hop on a bicycle for a cultural exploration through traditional Malay kampongs, cycling past stilted houses and vibrant community life. Witness the daily rhythms of local families and friendly children, and observe adults winding down their day.

River Crossing & Sunset Cruise:
Experience a tranquil journey across the river on a traditional sampan boat. From the water, enjoy a breathtaking Bornean sunset painting the skies over the majestic Astana, the striking State Legislative Assembly Building, and the serene Sarawak Mosque.

After disembarking, dive into a lively hawker street market for dinner. Sample beloved local comfort foods and savor rich, authentic flavors alongside Kuching’s residents.

DAY 02: ENCHANTING KUBAH NIGHT WALK (Breakfast)

After a day of urban exploration, immerse yourself in the mystique of the Bornean rainforest at night. Pick-up from your hotel between 17:50 and 18:10, followed by a transfer to Kubah National Park.

Rainforest Symphony:
As dusk settles, embark on a guided walk along the Summit Road. Listen to a “living orchestra” of wildlife sounds, including the award-winning “Dusk by the Frog Pond” chorus. Keep your eyes peeled for rare nocturnal creatures and search for the tiny Matang narrow-mouthed frog among pitcher plants.

Frog Pond Discovery:
Arrive at the frog pond and be mesmerized by the chorus of frogs. Learn about the unique life cycle of species that lay their eggs inside pitcher plants. Return to your hotel later in the evening with unforgettable memories of the rainforest’s enchanting symphony.

DAY 03: HEART TO HEART WITH THE ORANGUTAN (Breakfast/Lunch)

Prepare for a meaningful and impactful day dedicated to Borneo’s most iconic primate — the orangutan.

Matang Wildlife Conservation:
Begin with a visit to the Matang Wildlife Centre, a rehabilitation facility for rescued wildlife. Participate in hands-on conservation work by assisting rangers in preparing nutritious meals and creating enrichment tools that stimulate natural behaviors. Conclude your volunteer session with a certificate presentation acknowledging your contribution.

Semenggoh Nature Reserve:
In the afternoon, proceed to Semenggoh Nature Reserve for the 3:00 PM feeding session. Witness semi-wild orangutans emerging from the forest canopy to enjoy their meal. As sightings are never guaranteed, encountering them in their natural environment is a truly special privilege.
Return to your hotel for leisure and overnight.

DAY 04: SATANG ISLAND SNORKELING DAY TRIP (Breakfast/Lunch)

Escape to the crystal-clear waters of the South China Sea for a day of marine adventure and conservation.

Dolphin Spotting & Bird Island:
Board a boat from the Santubong or Damai area and cruise toward the Salak River mouth. Watch for elusive Irrawaddy dolphins along the way. Before reaching your main destination, stop at Bird Island to observe diverse seabird species.

Turtle Sanctuary & Snorkeling:
Continue to Satang Island, part of Satang National Park and an important sanctuary for Green and Hawksbill turtles. Visit the turtle hatchery to learn about conservation efforts protecting these endangered species. Enjoy a packed lunch before snorkeling among vibrant coral reefs or relaxing on pristine white sandy beaches.

Return to the mainland and transfer back to your hotel for leisure and overnight.

DAY 05: BIDAYUH VILLAGE IMMERSION & CULINARY TOUR / DEPARTURE (Breakfast/Lunch)

On your final day, experience the warmth and culture of Sarawak’s indigenous Bidayuh community.

Village & Foraging Walk:
Travel to a Bidayuh village on the outskirts of Kuching, surrounded by lush rainforest. Be welcomed at a homestay before embarking on a guided walk through vegetable farms and fruit orchards. Continue to the forest edge for a hands-on foraging session, gathering jungle produce such as ferns and bamboo shoots.

Riverside Cooking Class:
Return to the homestay for an authentic Bidayuh cooking experience. Prepare lunch using the ingredients you foraged earlier. Weather permitting, cook alfresco by the riverbank using open fires and bamboo tubes.

Local Fisheries & Departure:
After enjoying your Bidayuh-style meal, learn about the Tagang system — a community-led fisheries conservation program. Bid farewell to your hosts before transferring to Kuching International Airport for your departure flight.
