Discover Miri’s oil heritage, fly into the remote highlands of Bario to experience authentic Kelabit village life, traditional cooking, sunrise treks, and ancient salt-making traditions. DAY 01: ARRIVAL MIRI – CITY TOUR – HOTEL

Meet and greet upon arrival at Miri Airport, then proceed for a 3-hour Miri City Tour.

The tour begins with a drive through the town for an overview of Miri’s cultural history and development, passing by the Chinese Temple and the Resident’s Administrative Office. Continue past Miri Centre, Miri Resource Centre, Taoist Temple, modern shopping malls, Oil & Gas Complex, and Piasau Camp.

Visit the Miri Heritage Centre, an arts and crafts hub showcasing handicrafts produced by the many ethnic groups of Northern Sarawak, including Iban Pua Kumbu textiles, Kenyah woodcarvings, and Lun Bawang tree bark products.

Next, proceed to Canada Hill, where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the city from the lookout point and visit the Petroleum Science Museum at Oil Well No. 1. Stop by the Tamu (local market), where farmers sell jungle produce, vegetables, fruits, and poultry.

The final photo stops will be Miri City Hall @ The Barrel and Coco Cabana, the city’s largest man-made lake and coastal leisure area. After the tour, transfer to your selected hotel for check-in and overnight.


DAY 02: MIRI – BARIO – NUBA LAYA – MONUMENT – HOMESTAY

(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
Fly from Miri to Bario. Upon arrival, meet and greet at Bario Airport and transfer to Ngimat Ayu House. Receive a briefing on your itinerary, followed by lunch.

Enjoy a self-guided tour of Bario, visiting the World War II Monument, the WWII plane wreckage, and nearby villages. Take a short trek up Korea Hill near Pekan Bario before returning to the homestay.

Experience a photo session wearing traditional Kelabit costumes and take part in Kelabit cooking by helping prepare Nuba Laya—mashed rice wrapped in heliconia leaves—for dinner. Overnight at the homestay.


DAY 03: PRAYER MOUNTAIN – BARIO REVIVAL HILLS – SALT SPRINGS

(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)
At 4:30 AM, begin a sunrise trek to Prayer Mountain, followed by a visit to a nearby Penan settlement. Continue to the Bario Revival Hills, where the Wind Chapel was built to commemorate the spiritual revival among school students in 1973.

Return to the homestay for lunch before departing to Pa’ Umor Salt Spring to witness the traditional Kelabit method of producing mountain salt. Continue touring other villages, including Pa’ Umor and Pa’ Ukat, with a visit to Tom and Munah’s grape and vegetable farm. Stop by a pineapple farm for the opportunity to pick fresh pineapples.

Dinner will be served at the homestay.

Optional cultural evening experience:
Enjoy cultural performances and traditional games with the local community, accompanied by light Kelabit beverages.
(Available upon request with an additional charge of RM450 per session.)
Overnight at the homestay.


DAY 04: BARIO – MIRI

(Breakfast)
Breakfast at the homestay. Transfer to Bario Airport for your flight back to Miri. Upon arrival, transfer to your selected hotel for check-in. Free at leisure and overnight.


DAY 05: LAMBIR HILLS NATIONAL PARK OR CROCODILE FARM – DEPARTURE

(Breakfast)
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Choose one of the following excursions before transfer to Miri Airport for your onward flight.

Option 1: Lambir Hills National Park
Transfer to Lambir Hills National Park headquarters. Enjoy a short walk and cross a suspension bridge to reach Latak Waterfall. Relax at the shelter area, enjoy jungle trekking, swim in the refreshing waterfall, and take in the cool mountain stream before transfer to Miri Airport.

Option 2: Miri Crocodile Farm
Located near the Kuala Baram River Mouth, a scenic 20-minute coastal drive from Miri brings you to the first and largest crocodile farm in Northern Sarawak. The Crocodile Farm cum Mini Zoo is registered under CITES and is home to over 1,000 estuarine crocodiles and Malayan gharials.

Stroll safely around the landscaped 22-acre sanctuary featuring natural breeding enclosures and specially designed ponds. The mini zoo also houses exotic animals such as cassowaries, pythons, binturongs, sun bears, gibbons, porcupines, monkeys, and more. Visitors may feed animals with bananas available at the canteen. After the visit, transfer to Miri Airport for departure.
