DAY 01: ARRIVAL MIRI – CITY TOUR – HOTEL

Upon arrival in Miri, begin your city tour featuring Malaysia’s first oil well, also known as The Grand Old Lady, located at Canada Hill. This historic site holds an important place in Miri’s history, as oil was first struck here by Sarawak Shell in 1910.

Continue the tour with a visit to the largest Taoist Temple in Southeast Asia, followed by Taman Muhibbah, a vibrant wet and dry local farmers’ market where you can find a variety of tropical fruits and vegetables. Next, visit the Miri Heritage Centre, a handicraft and souvenir hub showcasing local craftsmanship.

Conclude the tour at Coco Cabana, a scenic waterfront destination known for its iconic seahorse lighthouse, stunning sunset views, art events, cultural showcases, and food stalls. After the tour, transfer to your hotel for check-in and overnight.

DAY 02: MIRI – MULU – DEER & LANG’S CAVES – ACCOMMODATION

Transfer to Miri Airport for your own flight to Mulu. Meet and greet upon arrival at Mulu Airport, followed by transfer to your selected accommodation for check-in. Lunch will be served at a local café.

After lunch, proceed by van to the Mulu National Park Headquarters for a visit to Deer Cave and Lang’s Cave. Trek along the 3 km plank walk through the rainforest to explore Deer Cave, home to the largest cave passage in the world, and the beautifully decorated Lang’s Cave.

Relax at the open-air observatory to witness the spectacular bat exodus, where thousands of bats spiral into the evening sky in search of food. In the late evening, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 03: MULU – WIND & CLEARWATER CAVES – SUNSET CRUISE

Breakfast at your accommodation. Begin the day with a boat ride to a Penan Settlement, followed by continued boating to the Wind Cave. A plank walk leads from the riverbank to the cave entrance, named for the cool breezes felt within its narrow passages.

Wind Cave, part of the Clearwater cave system, features impressive stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones, helictites, and rock corals, some illuminated in the famous “King’s Room.” From Wind Cave, continue via plank walk or boat to a picnic area near Clearwater Cave.

Climb 200 steps through the forest to the cave entrance. With its underground river, Clearwater Cave offers a fascinating exploration experience, enhanced by plank walks, paths, and floating bridges. Enjoy a refreshing swim at Clearwater Spring. Packed lunch will be served at the Clearwater Pavilion before returning to your accommodation for leisure.

In the late evening, proceed for the Melinau River Sunset Cruise. This longboat journey takes you along the Melinau River and downstream into the Tutoh River, offering a striking vista of the Mulu Summit and surrounding mountain ranges. This two-hour cruise allows you to soak in the pristine rainforest scenery while enjoying a breathtaking vermilion sunset.

Return to your accommodation jetty for dinner and overnight.

DAY 04: MULU – CANOPY SKYWALK – FASTLANE CAVE

Breakfast at your accommodation. Transfer to the park headquarters for the Canopy Skywalk experience.

The Skywalk follows a circular route suspended among 15 trees, with platforms at each tree allowing visitors to pause and admire the lush rainforest surroundings. It is one of the newly completed, world-standard visitor facilities at Mulu National Park.

The tour begins along the Rainforest Discovery Walk towards Deer Cave, then turns at the Paku River onto a plank walk winding through the forest floor to the Skywalk access tower. The Skywalk offers spectacular panoramic views of the flora and fauna inhabiting one of the world’s oldest rainforests. Wildlife commonly seen includes macaque monkeys, hornbills, flying lizards, squirrels, insects, and various rainforest birds. Informative signage throughout the guided tour explains the rainforest and canopy ecosystems.

The 1.5 km journey to the Skywalk tower takes approximately 30 minutes, with another hour spent walking along the canopy. Transfer back to your accommodation for leisure, followed by lunch at a local café.

Later, enjoy a short boat ride up the Melinau River, followed by a 10–20 minute rainforest walk and a climb up steps to the cave entrance for a 1.5 km underground cave adventure (Fastlane Cave). This torch-lit experience allows you to discover cave fauna such as sparkling spider eyes, blue racer snakes, white crabs, cave crickets, and impressive cave formations illuminated by stunning lighting. The wide plank walk ensures a safe and enjoyable exploration.

This cave is highly regarded by scientists due to its large volumes of prehistoric sediments, including a volcanic ash layer. After the tour, return to your accommodation for leisure, dinner, and overnight.

DAY 05: DEPARTURE

Breakfast at your accommodation before transfer to Mulu Airport for your departure flight home.
